[タイ料理] Papaya green salad, Som Tam Thai
ミンです。
These days are holiday in Thai, I stay at home but still learn somethings new :D Never stop learning ^^
Yesterday, I decided to buy food from outdoor vendor, not supermarket or big store. I can know some simple Thai words, slightly difficult to buy something with local people who does not speak English. I used only gestures and point to point ^_^ By the way, now I can demand something, ask its name and know how much is it in Thai :D
Everyday when I back to home, I meet the "great woman" who takes food vendor as her business, at the corner of the route. I always smile and don't know what she sell. Okay, if I want to know, just try to buy one day. And this "one day" is yesterday, I nodned my head and ask "Som Tam please", I guessed that because there is a mortar which is a tool to make "Som Tom" in a stall.
"Som Tam" is a kind of Thai salad, very popular in Thai, every food stall will sell this one beside of rice and crispy pork. I heard alots about it but have never tried, so yesterday is the first time.
The principal ingredients are papaya, garlic, dried shrimp, fish sauce and .... as you know, it's "chilli". The food owner asked me "spicy ?", of courses I said "yes", but in fact it's quite spicy and hot, please adjust depend on your spicy capacity. Sour and spicy are two main tastes that I felt strongly, despite of spicy but it's great, signature dish must try in Thai.
