[タイ料理] Having a good dinner with "supprising dish"
Good evening everyone !
Today, I have just gone to seek new appartment in On Nut station with Grant-san, my collegue in Thai office. On Nut is a place far away from Bangkok central so it's more quite, calm and more food market.
After returning to office and finishing today's work, I went Terminal 21 to have a dinner. Once again, I was confused to select what I should eat. There are a lot of food stalls and dishes. So I decided to try one stall per day.
Stopping at rice stall, sorry I forget to take a picture of this stall. This food stall has only rice dishes, served with pork minces or mackerel. Due to a thinking at a glance, about the last サバ plat with Tanaka-san in Ho Chi Minh City, I chose "rice mixed with chilli mango paste, served with fried mackerel (サバ). I thought that it might be a good selection, but ...
A little fish T_T Ok for the small price, I can't have a "bigger", but here are vegetable, it's acceptable because Thai food has not too much "fresh green". I need vegetable after 2 weeks. When starting to try first spoon of rice with pumkin flower, I found it's delicious! However, it has a smell, stronger than fish sauce. If you can not eat fermented sauce, you should not try. For me, it's so yummy when eating vegetable with this sauce paste. I think it is made from shrimp.
When I came home, I searched on Internet about its name, and I found this one "Khao Khluk Kapi", "kapi" means shrimp sauce.
The image above on Internet, its topping does not like what I have ate this evening, but the mixed rice has the same color. By the way, supprising dish make a good dinner, it's fine ;)
